The Chittagong uprising
On the night of April 18th, 1930, a school teacher named Surjya Sen, his five friends and an army of young boys went into battle in Chittagong, ready to die. Their plan was to challenge the British by taking over their armouries. Surjya Sen's group was only a small handful against the might of the British Empire, but their extraordinary gesture of courage and defiance inspired other freedom fighters, long after they were gone.
