    Our reading class read this book as well as observed the play and film(Disney). The book was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. One of the major differences we noticed was that Poppins was much more of a witch like character in the book.
  • Not the Story I Expected

    Even after seeing Saving Mr Banks, I was not quite prepared for absolutely dry this story would be, for how self-centered and non kid-friendly Mary Poppins was, and for the rather abrupt ending. For the life of me, I have no idea why Diane and Sharon Disney so loved this book to the point their father would pursue PL Travers for 20 years to gain rights to the story. Obviously Walt and his brilliant team created the heartwarming adaptation of which most are familiar, but even that seemed like nearly a complete re-do even before Walt hosted Mrs Travers for the arduous two-week visit to Burbank.
